Saudi Arabia renews its support for the Yemeni government and condemns the Houthi attacks on civilians

On Tuesday, the Saudi cabinet renewed the kingdom’s support for Yemen and its government and urged the parties to accept a political solution.

Saudi Arabia also reiterated its firm position to rid the region of weapons of mass destruction and expressed support for cooperation aimed at banning weapons of mass destruction, preventing their proliferation and condemning their use.

The Saudi cabinet held its session via video conference on Tuesday, led by the keeper of the two holy mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the prime minister.

National transport and logistics strategy

At the beginning of the session, the Council reviewed the efforts of government agencies to increase development profits and achieve further breakthroughs (Vision 2030) in all their axes, which are based on increasing and maintaining economic growth in all areas and developing new sectors based on the outstanding location and leading position of the kingdom.

In this context, the Council of Ministers promised the inauguration of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman National transport and logistics strategyThe beginning of a new phase in this important sector to improve its services and resources, to integrate its system and modern patterns and to consolidate the position of the Kingdom as a global logistics center that connects the three continents, through a package of quality initiatives and projects which will help to achieve economic and social goals and to improve the regional and global competitiveness of the kingdom.

Support Yemen and its legitimate government كوم

In his statement to the Saudi press agency, the information minister-designate, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, on having subsequently dealt with a number of issues, events and their developments, reiterated the Kingdom’s continued support for Yemen and its legitimate government and all parties to accept political solutions. To unite the ranks among the various sects of his people and avoid bloodshed He bridged the gap between his components to complete his march in restoring his state, security and stability and to support efforts to find a comprehensive political solution to end the crisis, in line with the Gulf Initiative, the results of the comprehensive Yemeni national dialogue and Security Council resolution 2216.

The Council of Ministers reiterated the Kingdom’s condemnation of the continuing attempts by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia toagainst civilians and civil objects, Another breach of the Stockholm Agreement by launching hostilities from Hodeidah Governorate.

The Council responded to the comments made by the Kingdom in the two special sessions on Africa, multilateralism and international governance to combat the corona pandemic, held on the sidelines of the meeting of foreign and development ministers of the Group of Twenty countries in the Italian city of Matera, about their support international and regional efforts to lay the foundations for stability, security and conflict resolution on the continent, and looks forward to global solidarity to advance them, encourage investment in them in various fields and achieve partnership and effective cooperation, to meet the challenges that threaten the world and humanity.

Weapons of mass destruction

Al-Qasabi noted that the Council of Ministers stressed the Kingdom’s firm position to free the Middle East region from weapons of mass destruction, to support cooperation on their prohibition and proliferation and to condemn their use, and what it is during the meetings the Executive Council of the Chemical Weapons Prohibition Organization, at its 97th session, demonstrated its keen interest in the Prohibition Agreement, affirmation of its role in promoting international peace and security.

The Council was briefed on the items on its agenda, including those on which the Shura Council participated in its study, as well as the conclusions of the Economic and Development Council, the Political and Security Affairs Council, the General Committee of the Council the Minister and the Council of Experts in the Council of Ministers in this regard.

The Council of Ministers came to the following conclusion:

First: approve the discussion and sign draft contracts between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman in the following areas: youth and sport, cultural, standardization, commercial, audiovisual media, radio and television, investment promotion, communications, information technology and Post Office, Transportation Area, and then upload the final signed copies to complete the legal process.

Second, approve the protocol on the establishment of the Saudi-Malaysian Coordination Council.

Third: Amendment of Article 5 of the Regulation on Regional and Urban Development Authorities, issued by Cabinet Decision No. (475) of July 9, 1439 AH, adding a paragraph with No. (5) with the following text: “5 A Representative of the Ministry of Tourism Joined the Council of the Asir Region Development Authority

Fourth, transferring the tasks of transport, distribution and sale of treated water with all its uses (agricultural, industrial and urban) to the public irrigation institution.

Fifth, amendment of the list of activities excluded from foreign investment, as mentioned in the resolution.

Sixth, approve promotions for ranks fifteen and fourteen, as follows:

– Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Hammad Al-Salama is promoted to (Board of Directors) at rank (15) in the Ministry of National Guard.

– Yousef bin Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Luhaidan is promoted to citizen affairs advisor to fifteenth in the Ministry of National Guard.

– Ali bin Attia bin Hamad Al Jaber has been promoted to General Director of the General Department of Housing Studies and Monitoring to 14th place in the Ministry of Local, Rural and Housing Affairs.

– Ing.Saif bin Nasser bin Muhammad Al-Saif is promoted to (Computer Consultant Engineer), Rank (14) of the National Information Center.

– Abdulaziz bin Saleh bin Abdulaziz Al-Ajroush as (Assistant General Manager), rank (14) of the National Information Center.

The Cabinet also considered a number of general issues on its agenda, including annual reports for the King Fahd National Library, the Communications and Information Technology Commission, and the General Authority for Endowments, and the Council took the necessary action on these issues.
