The Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Saudi Arabia, Faisal bin Turki Al Said, stressed that the close ties between the two countries have stretched over the years and pointed to a new movement at the Sultanate level that is keeping up with the times in the Kingdom in connection with Vision 2030.
In an interview with Al Arabiya.net he said: “There is another renaissance in the Sultanate of Oman, represented in its Vision 2040, which will accompany the renaissance movement in Saudi Arabia under the leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in the vision of 2030. “
He added: “The limits of trade between the two countries are considered very modest and overall, given the discussions that are currently taking place, which will bring about a leap in economic quality between the two countries, the announced statistics are close to 10 billion Saudi riyals .
The land port between Saudi Arabia and Oman
Regarding the land port that connects the two countries, Ambassador Al Said said: “The leadership in the Sultanate and Saudi Arabia are determined to inaugurate the port later this year, establishing a new partnership between the two countries, and I believe that the border port is the starting point for the work to enable many more services, opportunities and qualitative transfers that the private sector depends on at both levels between the two countries.
The Omani ambassador in Riyadh also pointed out that the economic movement of Saudi Arabia affects all Gulf states and pointed out that the current timing is important in order to improve joint cooperation at the Gulf and bilateral levels as well.
Agreement between Saudi Arabia and Oman
In addition, at its meeting yesterday, the Saudi Council of Ministers, chaired by King Salman bin Abdulaziz, approved the discussion and signing of draft agreements between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman in the following areas: youth and sport, cultural, standardization, economic, Audiovisual Area, Radio and Television Area, Investment Promotion Area, Communication, Information Technology and Postal Area, Transportation Area, and then upload the final signed copies to complete the regulatory procedures.
