From education to marriage, from career to travel, there is very little that Indians do not decide on the basis of the zodiac; If not decided, the horoscopes and the predictions based on them have a great influence on people’s behavior. Hence, it is essential to understand what your sign is and how it is made. Also called a natal chart or diagram, it is a diagram or astrological chart that represents the position of the planets, sun, moon, etc. at sensitive moments in a person’s life, most of which are from birth. Although this is the technical definition, in common language it generally refers to the predictions made by the astrologer based on the aforementioned astrological chart about a person’s future. It is an ancient phenomenon that is not only mentioned in Atharva-Veda (which describes the science behind this diagram) but as part of the story in many sagas such as the Mahabharata and Ramayana. This was the pivotal role of the tower in Vedic India as the agonizing married life and final separation of Ram and Sita in the Ramayana was explained by matching all 36 guns (the optimal number is somewhere between 19 and 35 out of a total of 36 of them), i.e. the root of the story in the nativity chart. .
The question remains whether the horoscopes are scientific or not. Not much recent research has been done into testing the validity of the claims astrologers base on natal charts. Most commentators and even practitioners cannot say anything about the accuracy of the predictions and the presence of a large number of fraudulent experts undermines the credibility of the limited number of experts who are actually practicing this science in the right way. Tests conducted under controlled conditions failed to find any relationship between the location of the stars in time and space and a person’s behavior. Also according to the Barnum effect, it is possible to build personal descriptions general enough to fit and satisfy a large group at the same time. This influence, proven by psychological tests, casts doubt on the entire false science of horoscopes and astrological predictions.
Most people today have difficulty reconciling this historical significance of natal charts with the shadow of the doubt that the emergence of modern science has placed on its legitimacy. Predictive art makes good business though. Most TV channels offer morning and lunch programming where callers’ problems are solved based on their scheme. Columns with similar minimums are not difficult to find in newspapers and magazines. World famous personalities like Dr. Rupa Batra and KN Rao only appeared because of this predictive science.
The main components of the scheme are:
1. Original: the person concerned
2. Celestial Domain: An imaginary projection field of the zodiac, planets, and constellations
3. Plane Equalizer: Projection of the equator into space
4. The supernatural plane: The orbits of the Sun and the Earth are taken at an inclination of 23.5 degrees to the equator
5. Plane horizon: transverse to the Earth at the point where it is concentrated on the Earth; This is to simplify the geometry of the diagram
These construction complexities alone make gaining experience in graph-based astrological predictions an extremely challenging task. And, as discussed, the reliability of the expertise is also in question. Anyway, the horoscope-based predictions are here to stay. With all the uncertainty that humans face in life, a crutch is needed to figure out the future to some degree and what better than our birth schemes for doing it!
