The Supreme Court called on all Muslims in all parts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to investigate the sighting of the crescent of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah on the evening of Friday, the twenty-ninth of the month of Dhu al-Qa’dah of this year 1442 AH, corresponding to July 9, 2021 AD.
In a statement, the court said, in view of the contents of the Supreme Court Decision No. (146 / AH) and the date of 3/11/1442 AH, that Friday 11/1/1442 AH – according to the Umm al-Qura calendar – corresponding to June 11 – 2021 AD, is the first of a month. Dhul Qi’dah 1442 AH; The Supreme Court desires to all Muslims in all parts of the Kingdom to investigate the sighting of the crescent of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah on the evening of Friday, the twenty-ninth of the month of Dhu al-Qa’dah of this year 1442 AH.
The Supreme Court requests whoever sees it with the naked eye or through binoculars to inform the nearest court to him, record his testimony to it, or contact the nearest center to help him reach the nearest court.
The court hopes that those who have the ability to take an interest in the matter, and join the committees formed in the regions for this purpose, and calculate the reward and reward by participating in it because of the cooperation in it in righteousness and piety, and the benefit to all Muslims.
Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sakhri, who is interested in meteorological phenomena, had previously predicted the dates of the first of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah and Eid al-Adha, noting that the day of Arafa will fall on Monday, July 19, and Eid will be on Tuesday, July 20.
Al-Sakhri said, through his official account on the micro-blogging site “Twitter”, that it is expected that the first of the month of Dhul-Hijjah 1442 will be on Sunday, July 11, 2021.
He added that he expected Arafa to fall on Monday, July 19, and Eid al-Adha on Tuesday, July 20.
